Some of the most ideal surfing areas in the Northern Atolls are:

Airport - Left

Chickens - Left, advanced and dangerous. Off an uninhabited island on the eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll: Requires speed. Named after a poultry farm on the island.

Cokes/Colas - Right, advanced and dangerous (shallow reef) for strong swimmers, Eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll: Intense big tube spot. Named after a Coke factory on the island.

Gurus - Left, Eastern Reef of South Male’ Atoll

Honky’s - Left, beginners and intermediate located on the eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll: Long and possibly the best wave in Maldives.

Jailbreak - Long, fast awesome right.

Kate’s - Short left on the eastern reef of South Male’ Atoll

Lohis - Good intermediate left only for guests of Lohifushi Island Resort. Located on the eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll.

Male’ - Steep right and left located on the eastern reef of the capital city. Great place to meet many local surfers and boogie boarders.

Natives - Right located on the eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll.

Pasta Point - Good left beginner only for guests of Tari Village.

Piddlies / Ninjas - Intermediate right hander located on the eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll. Named after many Japanese surfers hanging around.

Quarters - Fast right hander located on the eastern reef of South Male’ Atoll. Named after the resort workers’ quarters on the island.

Riptides - Fast right on the eastern reef of South Male’ Atoll

Sultans - Good right for beginners and intermediate locate on the eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll. One of the best waves around.

Tomb Stones - Great right located at Full Moon Beach Resort, on the eastern reef of North Male’ Atoll.

Twin Peaks (also called Left & Rights) - located on the eastern reef of South Male’ Atoll.

Some Southern Atoll Spots - Gadhoo, Gan, Gazeera, Vadhoo, Fiyoree
