Visibility - When to Come

The Maldives has excellent visibility year round, which averages at 90feet (27meters). Visibility depends on the seasons and what the tides are doing. April brings the southwest monsoon season which creates tons of plankton and brings…you guessed it whale sharks and mantas! Visibility is anywhere from 130-70feet (40-21meters). November brings the northeast monsoon with great water clarity, up to 200feet (61meters)!! Huge pelagic are spotted many times off the atoll’s western sides. The water temperature varies from 80-89F (26-31C) depending on when you go. If you get cold easily, we recommend you rent or bring a 3mm wetsuit.

Diving Season:
January-April (Best)
August-November (Good)
May-July (Good but rainy)
January-March, August-November (Best for seeing big fish)
